Of all the Technical Directors I've worked with in 30 years in the business, I would say David Steinmetz is the one I trusted and enjoyed working with most. He kept his cool, had a terrific sense of humor, and worked very hard.

He constantly exuded care for the project and cared about the theatre--the people in it and the physical plant. Most important, David was very creative in solutions and problem-solving and I never remember him saying "no" although he was fully cognizant of staying within budget and apportioning resources.
